INSUL-PAINT is water based acrylic floor insulation paint, specifically formulated for use with underfloor heating systems, incorporating 3M insulating technology.
INSUL-PAINT is sold in 1 litre Euro bottles.
We recommend two coats. It improves the R value of the floor and two coats will minimise the radiant heat loss by up to 24%. Thermal tests by the Thermal Measurement Laboratory at Salford University have recorded data on the benefits of this product to minimise radiant heat loss in a home. Radiant heat loss is responsible for up to 75% of heat loss from the home.

As a guide, the paint industry estimates 1 litre of standard emulsion paint will cover an area of 12 square metres with a single coat however, insulating paint has different properties and is not emulsion. We recommend two coats of INSUL-PAINT for the best results. Most gloss paints will cover slightly less – 1 litre will cover approximately 11 square metres
It is also important to note that most floor surfaces are porous, especially concrete floors.

INSUL-PAINT is a dual purpose paint used to both insulate and prime your floor base prior to laying underfloor heating. The floor surface will then be insulated and ready primed for the application of underfloor heating, levelling compounds, tile adhesive and tiles.
Designed for use with underfloor heating to improve energy efficiency and is ideal and practical where no build height on the floor is possible.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please do not confuse INSUL-PAINT with other floor insulating paints produced from fly ash. Paints produced from fly ash are less effective and have a grainy rough finish.
